  • Easy to Make. The recipe is simple and quick, requiring just a few fresh ingredients and a juice extractor. If you don’t have a juice extractor, you can use a high speed blender and strain the juice through a fine mesh strainer. It’s an easy way to enjoy a healthful drink at home.
  • Nutrient-Rich. This juice is packed with nutrients from beets, apples, and kale. Beets are rich in folate, manganese, and betaine; apples add fiber and antioxidants; and kale provides vitamins A, C, and K along with minerals like calcium.
  • Natural Sweetness. The apples naturally sweeten the juice, making it a delicious and refreshing drink without needing added sugars. The honey (optional) can add an extra touch of sweetness if desired.
  • Detoxifying Properties. Beets are known for their detoxifying properties, supporting liver function and aiding in the elimination of toxins from the body. This juice is a great way to incorporate beets into your diet.
  • Energy Boosting. The combination of fruits and vegetables in this juice provides a quick energy boost. Apples offer natural sugars for immediate energy, while beets and kale contribute to overall vitality and stamina.
  • Refreshing and Hydrating. The juice is hydrating and refreshing, especially when served chilled with crushed ice. It’s perfect for a hot day or after a workout.
  • Antioxidant Power. Apples and kale are rich in antioxidants, which help combat oxidative stress and inflammation in the body. This juice supports overall health and well-being.
  • Vibrant and Delicious. The vibrant color of the juice is visually appealing and makes for a delightful drink. The blend of earthy beets, sweet apples, and slightly bitter kale creates a balanced and delicious flavor profile.

    Substitutions

    • Spinach – Instead of kale, you can use spinach for an equally healthy beverage.
    • Pears – Substitute pears for the apples. Ripe Bartlett or Seckel pears are the best because they are the sweetest.

    Storage

    Refrigerating:

    • Use an Airtight Container. Transfer the juice to an airtight container or jar. This helps maintain freshness and prevents the juice from absorbing odors.
    • Store in the Refrigerator. Keep the juice in the refrigerator. It’s best consumed within 24-48 hours to enjoy the maximum flavor and nutritional benefits. Freshly juiced beverages can lose nutrients and flavor over time.

    Freezing:

    • For Longer Storage. If you want to store the juice for a longer period, you can freeze it. Use freezer-safe containers or silicone ice cube trays for portioning.
    • Leave Room for Expansion. When freezing, leave a little space at the top of the container to allow for expansion as the juice freezes.
    • Thawing. To thaw, transfer the frozen juice to the refrigerator and allow it to defrost overnight. Shake or stir well before serving to recombine any separated ingredients.

    Tips for Freshness:

    • Minimize Air Exposure. To reduce oxidation and maintain freshness, try to minimize air exposure when storing the juice. An airtight container or jar is key.
    • Rejuvenate with a Quick Shake. If the juice separates after refrigeration, give it a good shake or stir before serving to recombine the ingredients.

    Avoid Extended Storage:

    • Consume Quickly. While it’s tempting to make a large batch, juice is best enjoyed fresh. The flavor and nutritional content degrade over time, so try to consume it within a day or two for the best experience.
