Ingredients

Cinnamon Sugar Topping

  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

Waffles

  • cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoon light brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoon Cream of Tartar
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • cup buttermilk
  • ½ cup butter melted and cooled to room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

Cinnamon Sugar Topping

  • In a small bowl, combine granulated sugar and cinnamon.

Waffles

  • In a medium mixing bowl, sift dry ingredients together.
  • In a separate bowl with a handheld mixer, beat together the eggs, buttermilk, melted butter, and vanilla until frothy, about two minutes on high speed.
  • Pour the wet ingredients into the dry and stir until nearly smooth. Do not overstir - a few small lumps are okay,
  • Add 1 to 1-½ cup batter to waffle iron and cook according to manufacturer's instructions, about 5 minutes.
  • While waffle is still hot, sprinkle cinnamon sugar topping on both sides of waffle. Repeat last two steps until batter is gone.
