Ingredients

  • 1 egg white
  • 3 tablespoon maple syrup
  • 3 cups cashews , raw or lightly salted
  • cup dark brown sugar , firmly packed
  • 2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon allspice
  • ½ teaspoon sea salt
  • ⅛-1/4 teaspoon ground cayenne pepper , adjust depending on how much heat you want

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350° F. Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper.
    In a medium bowl, whisk egg white until foamy. Stir in maple syrup, then stir in nuts.
  • In a separate bowl stir together sugar, cinnamon, allspice, sea salt and cayenne pepper. Add the spice mixture to the nuts and toss to coat evenly.
  • Spread the nuts in a single layer on prepared baking pan. Bake at 350°F (176°C) 15-20 minutes. Stirring occasionally to break up any clumps.
