Hello again! I hope you are having a fantastic weekend. I have a tasty coffee beverage to share with you today. With temperatures getting cooler, it’s time to start thinking about warm and comforting beverages. Soon it will be frosty cold and you’ll want to wrap your fingers around a piping hot mug or cup, sipping on a delicious coffee drink. Am I right? Today I am sharing a super easy, super tasty and super inexpensive Almond Roca mocha!
To be honest, I had never tried making my own coffee shop coffee concoctions at home until I was recruited to be a barista for my church’s little coffee shop. I discovered that it doesn’t get any easier. Now it’s not my intention to take anything away from coffee shops. They are great for hanging out, enjoying your favorite coffee beverage and soaking up the atmosphere. However if you are just looking to grab a yummy coffee beverage to enjoy on the drive in to work or while on the go, then why not save yourself a few bucks by making it yourself at home? If you’re in the habit of buying a coffee on a daily basis that can get pretty expensive.
I do have a little espresso maker that my dad bought for me years ago that I just let sit around. It was on the verge of being donated when I pulled it out to try out this recipe. I’m so glad I didn’t donate it! I’ve been enjoying this mocha beverage quite a bit. However, I don’t see why you would necessarily need an espresso maker to make this mocha. If you do have some way of brewing coffee at home, then you can just make it stronger using a dark roast coffee. Maybe not truly authentic, but it still tastes great, in my humble opinion. This trick may not pass muster if you’re going to drink the espresso on its own, but since you’re dressing it up with so many other things, it’s just fine. You can heat up the milk either on the stove or in the microwave. You won’t get that nice foamy effect, but you can dress up your beverage with a little whipped cream (or non-dairy whipped topping if you’re minding your calories.)
Now that I’ve started using the espresso maker, I am looking forward to sharing more delicious coffee recipes in the coming months.
By the way, I have this lovely mug available in my shop. It comes as a set of four. Perfect for gift-giving!
